Alrighty it’s that time or it is soon approaching for you. Spring Break! Now to certain crowds Spring Break means a time to take long road trips, working, visiting love ones, family trips, or partying hard like a rock star! Now to some generations Spring break and having lots of fun in the sun, was tide to MTV however now I’m sure it’s something completely different or you can view it on an IG feed. Anyhow, here is a glimpse in to the an origin of Spring Break.
“Spring break can be traced back to the 1930’s, this was when a group of college swimmers from Colgate University in New Year traveled to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for training during their winter break.” “The warm weather and the opportunity to train in a sunny location made the trip pleasing, and the following year, more swimmers joined them.” “This trend spread and soon other college students began traveling to Fort Lauderdale during their spring break to enjoy the warm weather and have fun.” To the contrary, “the modern spring break tradition in the United States has its roots in ancient Greek and Roman festivals like Lupercalia, which involved periods of revelry and debauchery.” Hum well that’s some history !
